Shipping Terms

Do you ship internationally?

We do not currently ship outside of the United States except for Canada and Mexico.

How much is my shipping cost?

Since we deal with custom orders unless otherwise specified by your sales person, all shipping charges are not included.
The exact cost for shipping is not known until we receive the bill from our shipping carrier for shipping you your product, at which point we will charge you for the order including those shipping costs. However, we can give you an estimate based on previous shipments of about the same size and width. Simply ask your sales representative.
If you have an account with a shipping carrier such as UPS, FedEx, Conway etc then you can provide us with that account number and we can ship your order on your account.

What happens when my order is lost or damaged?​

When Shipments Arrive Damaged or Lost

Akon strives to ship materials quickly and efficiently and we choose the most reliable shipping carriers available. However, inevitably shipments will get lost or damaged by the shipping carriers. This puts both AKON and our customers in a tough situation. AKON will be burdened with substantial paperwork and product expense to get these products reshipped. Sometimes not ever receiving reimbursement from the carrier for these lost or damaged products. Our customers are then inconvenienced due to downtime or missing critical deadlines for installation. Since these issues do arise we use an industry standard procedure for getting our customers their products which have been lost or damaged.

What to do?

  • ​​If you see visible damage to the packaging sign for the shipment as “damaged” ​with the carrier when they unload
  • If your order does not ship in full, sign for as​ “​missing items​”​. For instance, ​if ​you see box 1 of 4 and only have 1 box
  • Notify your salesperson at AKON immediately
  • AKON will then work on shipping out your items

How AKON Ships Replacements?

Once we have communication from our customers we begin the process of getting replacements shipped out. Please be aware under no circumstances does Akon ship next day air replacements due carrier negligence. Following industry standards, we use standard ground shipping for all replacement parts. If you would like to use next day air, then AKON can provide you with a carrier quote. Please be aware that next day air can range from $250 for small items and up to $1,500 for heavier items. You can also specify a carrier which can pick up the items once they are ready.

AKON Warranty Statement

EFFECTIVE DATE:  Shipment Date

Akon LLC warrants its Curtain Tracks to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of ownership of the purchasing party. The Company will repair or replace, at its option, such defects or products to eliminate the defect.

Akon LLC warrants its Curtain Track Rollers to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of ownership of the purchasing party. The Company will repair or replace, at its option, such defects or products to eliminate the defect. This does not include environment conditions such as chemical wash down damage or extreme heat from such things as ovens which might melt the nylon rollers.

THERE ARE NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH ABOVE, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTS ABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. The Company’s liability with respect to its installation shall not exceed that expressly set forth above, irrespective of the theory upon which any claim might be based, including breach of contract, warranty, negligence or strict liability in tort, and under no circumstance shall the company be liable for incidental or consequential damages.

Ordering FAQ

Is there any sales tax on my order?

Akon is only registered in Florida to collect sales tax. If your order is shipping outside of Florida then you will not be charged any sales tax.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Deliveries are called out on the top of your quote. As a general rule, galvanized curtain track ships in approximately 3-4 days and the stainless steel curtain track ships in approximately 2-3 weeks. If you have a rush order, simply contact your sales representative and ask them for a special rush delivery. If it is possible, we will work with you.

Do you offer distributor pricing?

Yes. If you are a distributor then we can offer you a distributor discount.

What is the return policy?

Custom ordered products can not be returned for a refund as they are made to order. Please measure twice and order once. If the product is damaged or malfunctioning, please call Akon to discuss return options. You must first call 989-414-1209 to receive an “RMA” (Return Merchandise Authorization) in order for us to properly process your return.

If return of goods is possible due to the item being a standard stocked product, we will offer a refund or exchange within (10) days of the shipment date excluding any shipping, insurance, restocking charges (if applicable) or other charges where applicable.

If you are not satisfied with the product you receive, please call or email us immediately so we can handle your concerns and discuss a refund or replacement. If you decide that you do not want the merchandise, please note that returned items that are simply not wanted or needed have a 30% restock fee.

If you have decided that you do not want the merchandise after it has been shipped, but before it arrives, DO NOT REFUSE THE DELIVERY. If the merchandise is refused you will be liable for brokerage charges and duty incurred upon its return.

Payment Options

If you received a custom quote here are your payment options.

  • Option #1 – Send AKON your credit references to be approved for net 30 days payment. If you don’t have a credit form, we can email you one.
  • Option #2 – You can send AKON a check, including the shipping cost. Once the check is received and cleared, the order will be released. Please note that with this option your sales person will have to calculate the shipping cost.
