Straight is a single run (Side A). 2-sided, 3-sided and 4-sided layouts turn 90 degree corners around an area. Multiple Straights is for separate runs that do not connect.

Measure along the ceiling or wall where the track will mount, from one end of the run to the other. Side A is 42″ minimum, and Sides B, C and D are 24″ minimum.

A 90 degree radius corner has a 2′ radius and adds about 2′ to the run. A 90 degree hard corner makes a square turn. Pick "No Corner Needed" for runs that stay straight.

Track ships in stock lengths and is made to be field cut. If you are between sizes, round up and trim the extra on site with a hacksaw or power saw.

Brackets fasten the track to a wall and hold it out from the surface. Use it when there is no ceiling or structure above the track line.

The track hangs on chain or cable from the structure above. Use it when the ceiling or roof is higher than where you want the track.

Supports fasten straight to the ceiling so the track sits close to it. The track mounts with only a few inches of gap below the ceiling.

The track hangs on 3/8″ threaded rod with a nut and washer, set to the drop you need. Threaded rods are not included and can be bought at a local hardware store.

Clamps attach the track to steel I-beams, so there is no drilling into the beam. Use it in buildings with exposed steel framing.

Uprights anchor into the floor, up to 12 ft high, so nothing fastens to the ceiling. It is made for lighter loads, about 75 lb. per trolley with trolleys about 4′ apart. Available on the Ceiling Trolley Track kit.

What are the dimensions of the track?

The track profile is 1.450″ wide and 1.250″ tall.

Can the track be cut to size as required on site?

Yes, the track is made to be field cut on site using a hacksaw or Sawzall.

How much width does the radius corner add to the length?

A radius corner has a 2' radius. So if you input 10' for track length, you will end up with 12' when you attach the radius corner. If that is too long, simply cut the track onsite and the radius will still work.

How does the track go together?

The track is modular in design and will arrive in pieces that slip together and bolt together with set screws.

How close together do I need the track supports?

Support spacing depends on the weight you hang. Light loads, like curtains, are usually fine with supports every 5′. Heavier loads need supports closer together, down to every 3′, so the track deflects less. Never space supports more than 6′ apart. Use the track deflection and sag charts to find the right spacing for your load.

Can I simply drill straight through the track and into the ceiling / structure?

Yes. This is called a flush mount install and is very common. Simply drill through the middle of the track and use a small wood screw, bolt, Tek screw, etc. into your structure. Space the holes about every 3-5'.

How hard is it to install the trolley track?

It is very easy. All of the components simply fit into each other and connect with set screws. The installation is very intuitive. If you have any difficulty, simply call or email us and we will walk you through the process.

Will the track rust? Can it be used in wet environments?

The track is hot-dip galvanized (HDG), which is often used to protect steel from corrosion in some of the harshest environments imaginable, yet it provides maintenance-free longevity for decades. The corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanizing varies according to its surroundings, but it generally corrodes at a rate of 1/30 of bare steel in the same environment.

How much weight can each trolley hold?

Nylon wheel trolleys are rated for 40 lb. each, double steel wheel trolleys for 75 lb. each, and four-wheel steel trolleys for 125 lb. each. The steel wheels have ball bearings for easy rolling.

Can I paint the trolley track?

The hardware comes as plain industrial galvanized steel. Some customers choose to spray paint the track, which is OK and does not affect its performance. You can use a steel spray paint to paint the track to your desired color once it arrives. Example below.

What size threaded rod does the threaded rod style track use?

The threaded rod track uses a 3/8" threaded rod with a nut and washer as shown below. Threaded rods are not provided by AKON and can be sourced locally from a hardware store.

Warranty

We provide materials for industrial companies, so we know how to supply a tough product! It's very unlikely that you will have any issues, but if you do, rest assured, the hardware comes with a lifetime manufacturer's warranty. We do have the right to repair or replace any potentially defective products, but we will make sure you get what you need. The warranty will not cover any damages caused by improper use, improper installation or abuse.

AKON has a 30-day return policy from the date of shipping. The hardware must be in the same new condition as when you received it, and the shipping fees will be deducted from the refunded amount.
